Hello, bloggers!

Welcome back for another awesome challenge here at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!!!

This week our hostess is Sharon!! And her challenge is Something Old, Something New!! So create a card, scrapbook page or altered item using something you've had for at least a year along with something brand new to you (could be stamp, paper, anything at all)! Get kreative!! Have some krafty fun and join us this week because we'd LOVE to see your KKS designs. We hope you can play along!!!

I used the lovely Arielle for my card.  I paired her with some brand spanking new Authentique papers I picked up last week and for my "Something Old" item, I used one of my trusty dusty oval Spellbinders dies.  I think this was the very first die I purchased, so this puppy is several years old.  I love the look of a basic die cut layered with more intricate designs.

Don't forget that our NEW January stamps are now available along with our Gimme Kimmies Kits....at a discount!! But only until Sunday night, so grab 'em up!!

Check out the wonderful creations by our Krafty Girls and Guests featuring this week's challenge!! If you join us and play along, you could WIN the gorgeous stamp, as featured on Sharon's beautiful card!

Happy kraftin'!!

Here comes the bride...

Copic colors used:  skin - E00, E000, R20 hair - E15, E13, Y21, Y000 dress - C3, C1, C00, 0 bouquet - R59, R29, R22, G28, G24, G21 background - B95, B93, B91, B000, B0000 dotty accents - B95, B93, B91, B000, B0000

Hey, all!  I'm back today with a sample I created for The Hen House Paperie, the stamping/scrapbooking store I work at in Albuquerque, NM.  This place is a little slice of heaven, I tell ya.  I picked up this Stampingbella image (Uptown Girls Brigitte the bride) and some My Mind's Eye papers (Lost and Found 3) in the shop and whipped up this card yesterday.  Okay, it took me one whole day to color it and another day to put it together, but I'm a slow crafter.  In fact, tortoises tell me to hurry up!  LOL!  But they have a hard time holding the Copics, so at least I have that over them ;D

I'll keep this short.  This is a rather large image and since I added a background effect, it takes up most of the real estate on the card.  I did manage to layer some of the DPs together and cut some glittery elements from another sheet to add some interest, but it was a bit challenging to squeeze in those details.    Of course, there's ALWAYS room for bling!

I better scoot!  Time to go to work ;D  Until next time, stay crafty!

Quick and Easy Valentine's Day Cards

Hello, Bloggers!  What's that smell?!  Oh, yeah!  It's love!  LOVE is in the air!

Are you like me?  I make cards ALL the time, but never seem to have enough time to make cards for the special people in my life, such as, birthday cards, Christmas cards, Mother and Father's Day cards, etc.  Yes, the list is endless!  I have stacks of cards sitting around my house, but I never seem to have anything that fits the bill when it comes to special cards for family and friends.  I have to confess that until a couple of years ago, I had never made a birthday card for my husband.  I know.  I'm terrible!  It never even occurred to me!  I've only been making cards for 15 years now, you would think that I would somehow make the connection to make him one.  Sheesh!  I've never been accused of being the sharpest pair of scissors in the craft bag.

Oh, well!  I could sit here and beat myself up about it all day, but that would only be fun for my blog visitors for a short while and then it would get old.  I think part of the problem is that I am a very slow paper crafter.  It takes me roughly 4 hours to create a card from start to finish, sometimes longer.  The thought of creating 10 cards at time is exhausting to even think about!  So let's not think about it...LOL!    Instead, let me share with you a couple of quick and easy Valentine's Day cards I created using some wonderful papers from the "Lovely" line by Authentique and some Punch Out elements from that same group.  These cards came together quickly and with little effort.  I added buttons, twine and bling and was able to come up with a couple of cards to give out.  These, however, I took to the stamp store I work at, The Hen House Paperie.  A beautiful store filled to the brim with paper-y delights!  If you find yourself in the Albuquerque area, you should pop in and say "hello"!

Okay, that's it for now!  Until next time, stay crafty!

Hey, all!  This little feller is capturing my state of mind at the moment.  I am tired enough to lay my head on my keyboard and just zone out for one or two (or three) days.  Every time I look at this image my eyelids start to feel really heavy.  In fact, while I was coloring it up, I had to get up and walk around a few times, because I could feel myself dozing off.  Quite a dangerous undertaking when you have a Copic in your hand...LOL!  Hmmm, wonder how I would look with an eyepatch?

Anywhooo!  Enough about my Copic adventures.  How about a little info regarding today's release?

Welcome back to our JANUARY Kraftin' Kimmie Peeks!!! Today we are excited to share TWO ADORABLE new sets by artist Cheryl Alger!!! Challenge #160 at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps: Animal Farm!

Happy New Year!!! We're 5 days into 2013.  How is it treating you thus far?  Me?  Well, I had high hopes, but what I have to show for it so far is an extra 4lbs from a gravy allergy.  Yep, apparently when I eat food slathered in rich, luscious gravy my butt swells up...HA!  Also, I've spent 2-weeks away from my sweet, sweet Copics and now I've forgotten how to use them.  See that sentiment on my card?  Yep, it's hiding a lot of red bleeding on that desk.  You can still see some of it even though I tried to cover it up.  Sheesh!  It's like a scene from Dexter only he wouldn't have been so sloppy.  Maybe Michael C. Hall can teach me how to use my Copics again...LOL!

Anyway...I digress.  Let's check out the new challenge at KKS...

We hope you had a wonderful holiday and are ready for lots of amazing things for 2013 at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!! Let's start things off with another awesome challenge! Is your resolution to kraft more and SHARE more!?! It's awesome to see so many of you creating with KKS!!! Keep them coming!

This week our hostess is KIM O!! And her challenge is called ANIMAL HOUSE!! So create a card, scrapbook page or altered item featuring at least one animal of some description! Get kreative!! Have some krafty fun and join us this week because we'd LOVE to see your KKS designs. We hope you can play along!!!

Check out the wonderful creations by our Krafty Girls and Guests featuring this week's challenge!! If you join us and play along, you could WIN the gorgeous stamp from our new Best Fur-iends featured on Kim's beautiful card!

I've used Krafty Katastrophe on my card and this image is practically a snapshot of me making a card in my studio.  Okay, she's thinner and has better hair, but I am constantly peeling a cat off my desk in order to work.

P.S. Our January release is quickly approaching....keep your eyes peeled for sneaky peeks starting on Wednesday!!! Trust me, we are kickin' off 2013 big time!!!

Happy kraftin'!!

A Look Back

Welcome back, Bloggers! It's officially 2013 and the New Year has finally arrived!  What's on board for you?  Do you make resolutions?  I used to make them, but I guess I didn't really know what the word "resolution" meant, because I invariably broke them within moments of having made them, so a weak grasp on the English is really the only explanation.  Certainly I would NOT have broken them intentionally...right?!  HAHA!  You know me too well ;D  I think I'll do away with the resolutions this year and that way I won't let anyone down, especially myself, LOL!

I've seen some folks doing some Year in Review posts and thought it might be fun to post some of my favorite projects for 2012.  I selected one from each month and came up with 12 cards to share.  Later in the week I'm planning on posting some of my favorite projects from other artists.  There are so many, I have no idea how I will fit them into one post!

Catch ya later in the week!  Stay Crafty!
