New Challenge at Tiddly Inks! Fit for a Diva!

Hey all!  Did you have a fabulous weekend?  Were you able to enjoy the great outdoors along with some awesome grilled grub?  Did you take a moment to remember the heros that have made our nation great and fought to preserve our liberties?  Well then, it sounds like you had a perfect weekend.  Me, too :)

Even though it's Tuesday, folks are trudging back to work dreading the beginning of the work week.  Let Tiddly Inks ease that transition for you with a new card challenge.  This week we're asking you to make a card that's fit for a Diva.  Face it, all of us have a little Diva inside just waiting to make an appearance.

For my diva I chose Heartbroke Happy.  When I first spied this image, she looked sad and I thought that was because she had a broken heart.  Upon closer inspection, it now looks to me like she is the one doing the heart breaking and she doesn't actually look sad, at all.  I paired her with a snarky sentiment and this card had Diva written all over it!  LOL!  Visit the shop for more Diva-licious images!  Also, visit the Challenge Blog and see what the DT created to pay homage to all the Diva's in our lives including our own inner Diva.  They are more than fabulous...of course ;D

Glitter and TIddly Inks!

Hey, everybody!  Just popping in to share a quick post.  I made this card using one of the incredible images from Tiddly Inks.   Meet Flora, isn't she fabulous?!  I colored her with Copics and paired her with some glittery My Minds Eye papers.  I am completely and utterly addicted to these papers.  I have probably eaten my weight in glitter the past couple of weeks.  Everybody in the house looks like they have a part-time job as a stripper...LOL!  Even the cats!!!   Hey, it's about time they started bringing in some dough ;D

And with the image of tarted up stripper cats firmly imbedded in your brain, I bid you a fond adieux!  Have a wonderful long weekend, be safe, and stay crafty ;D

It's a Bombshell Blog Hop!

I'm back!  I told you I had a second post today, did you doubt me?  Okay, so I'm a bit unreliable ;D  You know what you CAN rely on?  A fabulous Bombshell Blog Hop the last Wednesday of every month.  Yes, that's right!  The monthly Bombshell Hop is back!  Our new hop mistress is the one and only fabulous Alison!  Let's have a big round of applause for her!!!

Alison has set a superb theme this go round and you are absolutely going to LOVE it!  I know I did!  Alison is asking everyone to Goth Up the Bombshells.  Yeah, I know.  Pretty great!

I decided on Butterfly Queen for my goth makeover and added some spiffy wings from the Sacred Heart set.  I colored her up with my Copics and tried to leave her skin pale by using only E000 and R20.  The grays are C7, C5, C3, C1 and C0.  I found a new red combo when I was perusing the Internet the other day...it's R89, R39 and R37.  It's really deep and rich.

I made the metal heart all by myself.  Actually, I made it a while back, but was just waiting for the right project to add it to.  The bone colored skull was a gift from my BFF.  She picked up several strands of these skull beads for me at the Flea Market.  Now you see why she's my BFF.  She totally "gets" me...LOL!!!

Okay, enough yammering.  This is a blog hop and you have lots of stops along the way and tons of amazing art to see.  You better scoot... ;D  Here's the list, you should have arrived from Milo's fabulous blog and your next stop will be Stempelientje's blog where I'm sure she has something wonderful waiting for you.  Be sure and visit the Bombshell Blog and the Bombshell Shop / Forum every chance you get.  Lots of activity and a host of amazing projects waiting to be shared on a regular basis.  Until next time, stay crafty!

A Challenge At The Paper Shelter - Anything Goes!

Hello!  It's Wednesday and it's time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter.  This week, it's nice and simple, just the way I like it ;D  The theme is Anything Goes.

I chose to use Hippie Girl on my card and paired her with some far out glittery papers.  I love these shimmery sheets, but when I play with them, everyone is covered in glitter...even the cats!  I can vacuum and vacuum, but it has a habit of reappearing later on.  Every time my sister comes over she says "you have glitter on your face", like that's a bad thing...LOL!

Here's a couple of details you should know about entering the challenge:

If you enter the challenge and you used a Paper Shelter image, and you are randomly selected in the drawing, you could win a $15.00 gift certificate to The Paper Shelter shop.  If your creation is randomly selected, but you did not use a Paper Shelter image, you could still win your choice of one digi image from The Paper Shelter shop!  Isn't that great!?  That means that everyone can play!

I'll be back shortly with a second post, so come back in a bit ;D

Pin-Up Challenge at Bombshell Stamps

Hello, all!  Did you have a good weekend?  I had a great weekend!  I spent a lovely Friday evening with friends and then Saturday, hubby and I caught the new Will Ferrell movie, Everything Must Go.  Guess what?  Will Ferrell is a terrific dramatic actor!  I was completely convinced that I was watching the life a real person fall apart.  No silly pratfalls, no raunchy bathroom humor, just an honest performance that was sad and poignant all at the same time.  The character felt "real", as if I know this person or could be this person.  Will Ferrell, do I see an Oscar nom in your future?  Maybe not for this role, but perhaps down the road.

We rounded out the weekend with a fabulous meal at our house shared with my sister and her boyfriend.    Sunday dinner is sort of a tradition and we always put on a big spread with everyone contributing to the menu.  The menu for this particular evening consisted of barbecued ribs, roasted corn on the cob, baked mac and cheese, Parker House rolls,  and coconut cream pie with a macaroon crust, YUMMM!  It sounds decadent, but tasted even better ;D

Now...why am I here?  Oh, right!  I'm sharing a Bombshell card with you today.  Our featured Pin Up for the month of May is Raven and she has issued forth a challenge sure to get you digging through your ribbons and fabric scraps.  She is asking us to create a project using Linens and Lace.  Good one!

For my card I chose my favorite Bombshell standby, Bombshell Angel.  She is the perfect image to dress up or down depending on the theme.  Heck, I've added a Santa to her to give her some Yuletide Cheer and even colored her green and added stitches to turn her into Franken-Bombshell, after all, she is a bit of a "cut up"...LOL!  Couldn't resist!  Anyhow, she was my go-to gal this time, but I left her in tact and allowed her to shine in all her Bombshell glory.  I colored her with Copics and added lace, and some wide cotton trim as I don't really have any fabric scraps.  I can't sew a lick.  My super crafty friend, Kathy, has even tried to teach me on several occasions, but I must have some sort  of a mental block against it, 'cuz it never sticks.

Visit the Bombshell Stamps website to pick up this stamp set and many more.  Also, don't forget to check out the forum, the gallery, and our wonderful blog.  It's bursting at the seams with inspiration!  You can also find the details of Raven's challenge, so do drop by!

Well, that's all for now.  Lots of other fun stuff to share this week, so hurry back ;D  Until then, stay crafty!

A New Challenge at Kenny K - WOW! (White On White)

Hey, everybody!  I haven't been around for a couple of days...I guess I have been slacking.  It's not for a lack of content either, I have several projects in the pipeline I should share, so I suppose it just boils down to plain old laziness.  But, don't hold it against me ;D  I'll be sharing lots this coming week including several challenges, a blog hop, and a couple of upcoming class samples.

Lots going on, but today belongs to Kenny K!  This week's challenge was a tuffy for me, but I managed to muddle through.  The design team is asking you to create projects focusing on the color white.  I went with Soho and gave her what seems like a wedding card backdrop.  I colored her with Copics and even made her outfit white.

Visit Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge blog to see what amazing creations the DT came up with to showcase this week's theme.  LOTS of fabulous stuff!!!  My good stampin' buddy Alaine is the guest designer this week and you can visit her awesome blog here!  Check out what she created for the WOW challenge.  You will be blown away!  While you're visiting her blog, sign up to FOLLOW her.  She posts amazing work and you won't want to miss a single project!

If you use a Kenny K image in your card creation and you are randomly selected for the prize drawing, you will win a rubber stamp image from Crafty Emma's and your choice of 5 digital images from Kenny K.  AWESOME!!!

I don't usually have a Monday post, but because I have been neglecting my blog, I thought I would go ahead and share a post tomorrow.  Hey, I have to keep The Blog happy or she gets all pouty...LOL!  Until tomorrow, stay crafty ;D

I used one of the fabulous Tiddly Inks images on my card today,  Take Me Away.  Makes me think of that Calgon commercial...lol!  I have colored her with Copics and then added random pearls to the bath bubbles for some fun.  Stop by the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog and see what this week's challenge is.  They announce a new one every Tuesday.  Be sure and stop by Christy's blog, as well, and to head over to the shop to get your digi fix.

May's Sketch Challenge at Bombshell Stamps

Welcome back!  I'm so happy that you have dropped by.  It's always good to see you ;)  Pull up a chair and let's visit a spell.

Today I am sharing my version of the May Sketch set by our very own Sketch Enchantress, Kathi.  She comes up with a fabulous sketch for us to play with each month.  Where on earth does she get all of her ideas?  For my card, I used images out of the Hawaiian Girl set and the Hula Girl set.  Nothing fancy going on on this card.  I just colored up the images with my Copics, followed Kathi's sketch, then I was done.

Take a look around the shop, grab some bombshell loveliness, and play along with the sketch challenge this month.  It's a good one!  While you're out and about in Blogland, stop by the Forum and say "hi" and don't forget to check out the blog for this and other challenges throughout the month.

I won't have another post until Sunday.  I'll be prepping for a class this Saturday, so until then stay crafty ;D

A New Challenge at the Paper Shelter - Black + White + 1

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by!  Today is Wednesday and that means there's a new challenge at The Paper Shelter.  Have you stopped by The Paper Shelter shop lately?  Amazing stuff!

This week's challenge at TPS is to create a card using the following colors:  Black + White + one color of your choice.   I used Black + White + Red for my card and combined it with Gothic Girl.  I was going to give her really funky hair and whatever color I decided that should be I would use as my additional color on my card.  As it turns out, she looks great with white hair...lol!  The challenge turned out to be much easier than it originally sounded.  Usually when I am coloring up an image, I have 52 Copics laying on my desk and my work space has shrunk to an area the size of a post-it note. but this time, not so much.  Just a handful of markers was all it took to achieve the colors needed for the challenge.

Be sure and stop by The Paper Shelter blog and check the cards the DT created.  They are sublime!

That's it for now, but there will be more in the next few days.  Here's what's coming up and a couple of newsy tidbits:

Kenny K is having a design team call!  Yes, it's the moment many of you have been waiting for!  Do you love creating with the Kenny K images?  Then now's your chance to do it on a regular basis and reap the reward of working with a group of ridiculously talented people.  I won't be returning next term as it's been a whole year and I've decided to step aside and let someone else enjoy a slot on one of the best teams around.  You're welcome!  HAHAHA!  All kidding aside, my time on this team has been amazing and am honored to have had an opportunity to hang out with this great group of folks for a while and to create some fun things with Kenny's fabulous images.  For more details regarding the Kenny K design team call, head to the Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge blog and to Donna's blog, Bearly Mine Crafts.  You better hurry, the call closes May 30th ;D  Good luck, everybody!

Bombshell Stamps sketch challenge for the month of May.  Hop on over to the Bombshell Stamps blog and check out the crazy kewl sketch that Sketch Mistress Kathi has bestowed upon us.  That's not her real title, but I thought it had a nice ring.  Of course, it conjurs up Kitten With a Whip type images...LOL...hope you don't mind, Kathi ;D

Copic Creations will have a new challenge May 15th.  Stop by the Copic Creations blog on May 15th and see what the team has in store for you.  Something colorful, no doubt ;D  There's still time to enter the current challenge.  Get those Copics out and and whip up something fun using clouds and sky!

See you soon!  Until then, stay crafty!

Fun stuff happening at Tiddly Inks today!

Hello, everyone!  I hope your weekend was swell (now there's a word that just doesn't get used often enough) and that you treated mom like a queen.  If you are a mom, I hope you were pampered from head to toe, and maybe even received a little gift from the Stamping Fairies, whether it was new stuff or a little uninterrupted time in your stamping studio ;D

Today I'm sharing a card using a brand spanking new, straight off the showroom floor, image by the incomparable Christy Croll over at Tiddly Inks.  This image is from the new Lilli Claire line and it is called Did You Hear.  Have you peeked inside the amazing Tiddly Inks Shop?  If so, you already know what fabulousness awaits you.  If not, then hold on to your socks ladies (or your hosiery of choice), because these images are so off the charts awesome, your socks are gonna be Blown.  Right.  Off.  Nuff said!

Don't forget to head over to Christy's blog to see what exciting things are happening today in the wold of Tiddly Inks.  You won't want to miss this!

I might be back later with an announcement.  Not sure yet, but I'll let you know ;D

A New Challenge at Kenny K - Let's Go Retro!

Happy Mother's Day!   I hope all the mom's out there are having a perfect day!  Especially my own mom :)  Mom, you mean the world to me and I love you with all my heart!  And that is why I am sharing your Mother's Day card with the kind folks that visit my blog ;D  Of course, you probably haven't received your card yet, because I didn't mail it until Thursday, but surely it will arrive soon.  Did I mention that one of your most appealing qualities is your patience...lol!

This week's challenge theme over at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz is Let's Go Retro.  At the mention of the word Retro, I immediately thought of this Super Mom image and that made me think of Mother's Day.  Plus, I swear she looks like my mom!  I even gave her blond hair, lol!  I am hoping that I score some points for posting this card on Mother's Day even though mom hasn't received it yet.  Cross your fingers for me, folks.

Now then, about this challenge, if you use a Kenny K image and are randomly selected as our winner, you will receive a bag of fabulous buttons from Fantastic Ribbons and your choice of 5 digital images from Kenny K.  What a terrific prize package!  Think of all the wonderful cards you could create!

Now, head on over to the Krafty Girlz Challenge Blog and take a look-see at what the DT has in store for you.  A plethora of stunning creations awaits you and will certainly get the creative juices flowing.

As for my Mother's Day?  Well, I'm no one's mother, but I do have 3 ungrateful cats who couldn't even be bothered to buy me a card...LOL!  I swear they just use me for my opposable thumbs ;D

Catch ya' later!  Have a wonderful day!  AND, stay crafty ;D

Sacred

Hola!  Welcome back!  Did you have a good Cinco de Mayo?  Not much celebrating going on at our house, but we did have a nice dinner.  Nothing fancy, just chicken tacos and guacamole.  It was delish! Sometimes the simplest meals are the best ones.

I'll keep this post lite.  Mother's Day is literally right around the corner (are you ready for it?), so a friend commissioned a card for his mom.  He wanted it slightly religious in nature.  I settled on using an older image by Stampington & Co. called The Saint.  I like how there are so many lovely collaged elements in such a small amount of space and I really like the shape and size of the image.  I colored it with Copics, but kept the color palette fairly simple.  I also dug around in my stash and found an ornate gold frame, which I picked up at a craft show many years ago.  The wings are from a Tim Holtz Alterations die and I painted them with Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fence.  Do you ever have trouble with the Distress Crackle Paint being the consistency of spackle?  Every jar I have tried to use lately has been dried up, so much so, that I had throw a bottle away yesterday.  Today I was so frustrated, I reached for a brand new jar of the Picket Fence, purchased just a few weeks ago and still sealed, but it was the same way.  Arghhh!  I love you Tim Holtz, but I'm about to use my angry pirate voice on ya!  Double ARGHHH!!!

Anyway, despite my urge to throw myself on the floor of my craft room and have a good ol' fashion temper tantrum complete with the kicking and screaming,  I managed to spread the spackle-like Picket Fence goo across a couple wings.  After it dried, I got a real nice crackle on them, but at what cost?  My sanity?  Oh well, there wasn't much left of that anyway...LOL!

I hope my friend likes the card.  Better yet, I hope his mother likes the card.  Not sure if I'll be back with another post before Sunday, but if I'm not, Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there.  You make the world a better place, just by being in it :)

An announcement and a challenge!

Hello again!  If you are looking for details regarding the latest and greatest Kenny K challenge, keep scrolling.  It's right after this post ;D

I've got some big news to share with you today!  BIG!  NEWS!  I have been invited to join the Copic Creations challenge blog design team!!!!  In fact, you may have heard some insanely high pitched super sonic squealing a few days ago that echoed across the land.  Well, that would have been me :D   LOL!

This team is bubbling over with talent.  These ladies know how to work those Copics and if you're not already familiar with the Copic Creations Challenge Blog, get ready to be blown away!  What an honor it is to bask in their artistry :D  <----(this would be me beaming from ear to ear)!

This week's theme is Coloring Sky/Clouds with Copics.  I have to confess, this was not easy for me, so I had to sort of improvise.  Mary is sharing some links on the blog for a few fantastic tutorials covering the subject, so I urge you to head over and check them out.  The sponsor this week is Lili of the Valley rubber stamps and, my oh my, do they have some sweet images.  I used a handsome fellow on my card by the name of Champion Ted.  Isn't he a cutie?!

Stop by the Copic Creations Challenge Blog to see what my new teammates have been up to.  Their designs are sure to delight and inspire!
