The cat's out of the bag!

Good Morning! As you may recall, I mailed my Mother's Day card on Friday and though it only has to travel 234 miles South of Albuquerque to reach it's destination, it may take it a while for the good ol' Carrier Pigeon known as the USPS to finally deliver it. I know, it was my fault for mailing it late, so there's no reason to point fingers at a government entity. And that's not really the point of this post anyway.

I called mom up to let her know that it was mailed late, so she could expect it's arrival sometime this week. I also let it slip that though I had not posted photos on my regular online haunts, I did stick one teeny tiny little pic on Splitcoast Stampers. I know that Splitcoast Stampers is not one of mom's favorite card stops. It's a giant site and can be a bit intimidating to wander around in. Besides, even if she did poke around, there are so many cards constantly streaming into the site, it would be impossible for her to find mine, right? Heck, she doesn't even know my user name. When I mentioned this to her, she responded with "Oh, I never go there! I don't care for that site. It's just too big."

Confident that her card would stay a surprise until she finally received it, I didn't give it another thought. Yesterday, I called to wish her a Happy Mother's Day and I reminded her that she wouldn't get the card until later, to which she very coyly replied "I've already seen it". "What"?! It turns out, my mother, Super Slueth Valadez, jumped over to Splitcoast Stampers as soon as we concluded our telephone conversation on Friday. She said that it took quite a while to comb through all of the newest uploads, but she found it, sure enough, buried on page 17 or 18. Um, could I be anymore "unclever"? Trust me. I will never again doubt my mother's ability to scour the Internet like the Website Warrior that I now know she is!

Anyway, now that the cat's out of the bag, I might as well load the pics to my blog. I used Posy by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and paired her with paper by October Afternoon. I originally purchased this paper for my June 5th card class, but I can't keep my hands off of it, so I guess I will need to stop by the paper store and stock up. I hope they still have some left. It's just too dang cute to sit on the shelf for any length of time! I colored Posy with my Copics and you will note that she is a brunette. That's my favorite color combo for hair at the moment. The sentiment was computer generated for both the front of the card and the inside of the card. The layout is fairly simply, but I did decide to add lots of flowers and bling.

Mom, I hope you like her when she finally arrives and next time, I'll know better than to let things slip...lol!
