A 30 minute card? No kidding!

Hello!  I'm doing a "quick" post for my "quick" card.  Today I'm sharing a recipe with you.  A recipe for a 30-minute card.  On average, it takes me 4 hours to make a card from start to finish.  Of course, that does not include the cards that sometimes drag on for days because the details are not quite right, but we'll just pretend that never happens.

Yep, 30-minutes...that's all it took.  If I can make this happen, then so can you.  All it takes is 2 simple ingredients.  Just combine your favorite pre-colored Paper Shelter image with one of the fabulous sketch challenges that take place each week on the net and voila!  You've got yourself a finished card.

Besides having an online store full of fun, whimsical digital images, at extremely reasonable prices, The Paper Shelter offers a unique twist on their products.  Every purchase includes a black and white image perfect for coloring and adding your own bit of pizzazz AND they also provide a colored index version that's just right for creating quick, but special cards.  That's what I did to create my card featuring Bee Bear, one of the new images just added to the shop.  New images are added frequently so it pays to pop in often and see what's new.  Let me just stress that I did not color this image.  I just printed up the colored index on cardstock and trimmed it out to add it to my card.  Easy peasy!

A great way to add to your Paper Shelter digi collection is to join the weekly challenges happening at The Paper Shelter Blog.  If you use a Paper Shelter image in your creation, your card could be randomly selected to win a $15 gift certificate to use in The Paper Shelter Shop.  That's a LOT of digis!  Somebody has to win this prize each week, but you have to be in it to win it ;D  This week's theme is the color RED and the DT has some terrific cards to get you started, so start with a visit to the blog.  There is still time to enter this week's challenge, but the deadline is today so get your entries in quick!

Tomorrow we'll announce the winner of this week's challenge and the new theme.  Visit the blog often!

  9. Cheryl,
I thought I was the only one that takes 4 hours on one card! I'm like you and will let it sit and come back to it when it just doesn't feel right to me.
Your card looks awesome! A 30 minute card would be record time for me. Lol thanks for sharing.
    Blessings,
    Leslie

  10. This is really nice - love the colours!

It takes me 30 minutes to route through my staff to find my craft knife and tape pen - let alone create a card!
